Hit and run leads to DUI arrest | News

Lake Placid, FL -- A Venus man was arrested Wednesday after he hit an elderly couple's car, drove off and then hit a speed limit sign.
Around 5 p.m. on June 8, 35-year-old Scott Tack was heading south on US 27 in a Toyota sedan in the outside lane behind Alan and Gloria Tyson's Mercury sedan when he hit the Tyson's car.
According to the police report, after Tack hit them, the couple pulled off to the side of the road. Instead of pulling off as well, Tack continued to drive south on US 27.
A witness to the accident followed Tack, who then hit a speed limit sign on Heartland Boulevard.
Tack was arrested for Hit and Run, DUI. Tack was not injured.
Alan Tyson, 83, and Gloria Tyson, 78, were also not injured in the accident.
