Title (Max 100 Charaters)
POLK COUNTY, Fla. -- Polk County Sheriff's deputies pooled together their hard-earned money to help a Frostproof woman and her two children after a burglar stole all of their presents from under their Christmas tree.
Sergeant Shawn Stephenson, his daughter Toni Rae, and Detective Matthew Radabaugh went to Karnella Johnson's home Christmas Eve morning to present her with over $200 in cash, $200 in gift cards, over $250 worth of food and some wrapped presents.
The food and presents were donated by PCSO deputies.
The Sheriff's Office says Johnson burst into tears at the deputies' generosity.
The burglary happened on Wednesday, Dec. 21 while Johnson was away from home dealing with a death in the family. An unknown suspect entered the home through a window and took two televisions, jewelry, and all of the presents under the tree. The presents included baby toys, an iPad, a laptop, and a Nintendo DS.
If anyone has any information about the burglary, they are urged to contact Detective Radabaugh at 863.412.2212.
