Detectives investigating a suspicious death

Polk County, Florida -- Polk County Sheriff's Office Homicide detectives are currently
conducting a suspicious death investigation in Frostproof.

Deputies were dispatched to 200 Maxcy Drive, Frostproof at
approximately 11:35 pm, Saturday, April 27.

Upon their arrival, a male was found outside the residence lying
on the ground.  Emergency Medical responders pronounced the victim
deceased at the scene.  

The death is suspicious in nature.

Manatee: Accident causes diesel fuel spill on SR 62

Manatee County, Florida -- A car and semi-truck crash resulted in over 200 gallons of diesel fuel being spilled onto State Road 62 Friday morning.

FHP troopers say Adrian Cervantes was driving a Dodge Neon on SR 62 next to Peter Osekowski's semi-truck around 7:45 a.m. At some point about three miles east of CR 37, Cervantes lost control of the car in a curve began to travel into the lane where Osekowski was driving.

Heather's Community Baby Shower helps Alpha House

St. Petersburg, Florida-- Thanks to 10 News viewers in the Bay Area community, we were able to provide a truck full of valuable goods- everything from baby wipes and diapers, to blankets and towels- for Alpha House mothers in need. 

Mothers like Jessica Young benefit from the generosity of the community and Alpha House. 

Jessica stood with us during the shower holding her 12-day-old son, Sebastian, and shared her story. 

Teens suspected in attack, robbery of man on bike

AVON PARK, Fla.- The Highlands County Sheriff's Office is investigating the robbery of a 59-year-old man who says he was attacked by a pack of teens while he was riding his bicycle.

Martin Ruiz says he was riding in the area of North Butler Avenue and West Main Street in Avon Park when he was attacked by three young men.

Deputies say Ruiz had a head injury and reported the three teens stole some of his personal items.

Deputies responding to the area were able to locate and arrest three suspects between the ages of 16 and 18 years old.
